Terms of Service
These terms describe how MachineDown works and what each party is responsible for. They are a working draft prepared for legal review before launch.
What MachineDown is
MachineDown is an independent platform that publishes equipment technical information, provides diagnostic assistance and connects customers with independent technicians, service companies and parts suppliers. MachineDown is not the repair provider, the parts seller or the manufacturer.
The service contract
When you accept a quotation, the repair contract is between you and the provider. MachineDown does not warrant a provider's work, and does not guarantee response times, availability or outcomes.
Provider obligations
Providers must describe their qualifications accurately, accept only opportunities they can genuinely cover, quote transparently, and hold the licences and insurance their market requires. Verification badges may be withdrawn if the underlying evidence lapses.
Customer obligations
Customers must describe the equipment and fault honestly, provide safe access to the equipment, and not act on safety-critical guidance outside their competence.
Technical information
Technical records carry a stated source, document version, last verified date and safety classification. Where no verified record exists, MachineDown says so instead of presenting an assumption as fact. Guidance involving electrical work, refrigerant circuits, gas, pressure vessels or protective systems is professional-only.
Lead charges and subscriptions
Lead prices, the charging trigger and plan terms are displayed in the platform before any charge is accepted. Leads that do not meet the qualification rules are refundable through the dispute process.
Acceptable use
No misrepresentation, no fake reviews, no fabricated leads, no scraping of platform data, and no use of the platform to contact customers outside a job they have accepted.
Changes and termination
MachineDown may change or withdraw features, and may suspend an account that breaches these terms or presents a safety or fraud risk. You may export and delete your records at any time.
